The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation has three types of grants:
o Direct Aid and Equipment
o General Grants
o Major Grants
From time to time, the Foundation will also undertake Signature Grants and proactive grants. These are initiated by the Foundation to respond to specific issues of particular interest or concern to the Foundation.
Before applying for a grant please ensure you are familiar with the Foundation’s grantmaking principles (see guidelines) and check your organisation’s eligibility.
Direct Aid and Equipment Grants
These grants are specifically for emergency relief, material aid and equipment.
Grants of up to $10,000 will be available.
Applications for Direct Aid and Equipment Grants close on Friday 16 March 2012.
General Grants
In 2012, the Foundation’s three priority areas of homelessness, youth and ageing are reflected in the General grants program as well as Major Grants. Grants relating to homelessness will be considered in any of the categories listed below.
Grants of up to $40,000 are available.
There are four categories in the General Grants Program.
Youth and Family. Areas of interest include:
o Youth mental wellbeing
o Out of home care
o Multicultural youth
o Children, youth and family services
Ageing and Health. Areas of interest include:
o Ageing with a lifelong disability
o Cultural diversity
o Health services and public hospitals
o Disability services
Environment. Areas of interest include:
o Research leading to community education
o Community education
o Grass roots action groups
Arts, Sport and Education. Areas of interest include:
o To improve, through arts, sport and education, the lives of those people who are socially or physically disadvantaged.
o Community development and engagement activities to increase participation by disadvantaged groups.

Applications for General Grants close on Friday 30 March, 2012.

Progress Reports
If you received a grant in 2011 you will also need to complete a Progress Report and submit this with your application for 2012.
Grants Acquittal Report
All grant recipients must complete a grant acquittal report on completion of their funded project or program.
